WELCOME INTRODUCTION

A note from Merrill Vanderslice,
Director of Professional Competition, AMA Pro Racing

For over 75 years, AMA racers, officials and staff have worked to build a legacy of hard-fought competition and spectator excitement. That legacy has brought forth some of the world's top motorcycle racers, and some of the most memorable moments in motorcycling history. We're glad you're here today, to witness an elite field of racers in pursuit of the internationally renowned AMA National Championship title.

Whether it's the extreme thrills of the AMA EA Sports Supercross and AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Motocross Championships, the All-American heritage of the AMA Progressive Insurance U.S. Flat Track Championships, or the high-tech intensity of the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship, AMA Pro Racing series have one thing in common: they deliver the best motorcycle racing the nation, and the world, has to offer.

As the U.S. affiliate of the Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), AMA Pro Racing has the honor of hosting the U.S. round of the FIM World Superbike Championship. Our FIM membership also allows riders from other nations to compete in AMA races, and provides an avenue for U.S. riders to compete in FIM World Supercross/Motocross, World Superbike, World Grand Prix and World Speedway races. Our partnership with the FIM ensures that AMA Pro Racing events are truly world-class.

After today's race, we hope you'll follow your favorite AMA Pro Racing series from home, on TV or via the internet. You can catch all the action, including broadcast times, immediate race results, rider stories and news at www.amaproracing.com.

Thanks for coming to this AMA Pro Racing event. We hope you find it as enjoyable as have millions of others. If you have suggestions or comments, please let us know by e-mail at proinfo@amaproracing.com.

If you're interested in becoming an AMA member, call 1-800-AMA-JOIN, or sign up via www.amaproracing.com.

Sincerely,
Merrill Vanderslice
Director of Professional Competition
