2000 - Carmichael took his first AMA EA Sports 250cc Supercross win at Daytona, and had an additional five series podium finishes... He dominated the AMA Chevy Trucks 250cc U.S. Motocross Championship, taking nine overall victories and the series title... Member of Team Chevy Trucks USA, which returned the FIM Motocross des Nations trophy to the US after a three-year absence... Raced with team Chevy Trucks Kawasaki.

1999 - An early season injury put a damper on Carmichael's first year in AMA 250cc Supercross. His best series finishes were fourth-place at Tampa and Daytona Beach, Fla. Returning to his trusty 125cc machine for the AMA Motocross Nationals, Carmichael took his third consecutive series championship with nine overall wins and two additional overall podium finishes. Raced with Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. Member of U.S. Motocross des Nations team.

1998 - Carmichael continued his winning ways in 1998, capturing the 125cc Eastern Region Supercross championship by winning every round of the series, the first rider in history to do so. Carmichael went on to lock up the 125cc Mazda Truck Motocross Nationals championship with one round remaining on the schedule... took eight overall motocross wins and an additional podium finish...rode for Pro Circuit Kawasaki.

1997 - Carmichael blazed into his first professional 125cc Supercross season, taking Eastern Region wins at Atlanta, Orlando, Fla. and Charlotte, N.C....Had a stellar year in the 125cc National Motocross series, winning the championship with eight overall wins and three podium finishes... Rode for Team Splitfire/Pro Circuit.

1996 - A record-setting rider in AMA Amateur Motocross, Carmichael rode in his first pro race in the final 125cc Motocross event of the year at Delmont and finished eighth... Earned AMA Motocross Rookie of the Year Award.
