Honda teams up with Metzger to bring Performance First to Supermoto

Mike Metzger has done it all. From
motocross to road racing and everything in between, Mike has
demonstrated his wide and varied skills in the motorcycle world.
Mike’s trend setting style has distinguished him as one of the
most creative personalities in the sport. Whether it's his
influence over motocross fashion (he was the first rider to wear
baggy pants) or transforming an entire motorcycle genre with his
fun loving antics, he is the undeniable king of innovation.
American Honda Motor Co. has recognized that Mike is at the
forefront of another trend: Supermoto Racing. In response, Honda
is backing Metzger's run at the 2003 AMA Red Bull Supermoto
Championship. Mike will be contesting the series aboard the 2003
Honda CRF450R and is looking forward to going head-to-head with
some of the best riders in the world.
"The Honda CRF450R is a perfect all-around package,”
said Metzger about his new ride, “It really suits my style on
both the dirt and pavement sections of a Supermoto course. I've
already won some early season races on it and my confidence
grows every time I ride it. I can't wait for the AMA series to
start so I can take all the training and riding I've been doing
to the racetrack and bring home some results on this bike."
Team Honda is equally enthusiastic about the relationship.

Watch for Metzger to be racing for the lead at every round of
