Magura announces Jeff Ward Supermoto sponsorship
Magura is capitalizing on its European roots by
establishing itself in the blossoming stages of the
new-to-America AMA Supermoto series with a sponsorship deal with
former Supercross legend and Indy Car racer Jeff Ward. Already a
huge phenomenon in Europe, Supermoto (or Supermotard) racing
requires highly specialized hydraulic brake and clutch
modifications-products which happen to be right up Magura's
alley.
Magura will be sponsoring Jeff Ward's efforts in
the inaugural six-race 2003 AMA Red Bull Supermoto
Championship. Ward will be
running the series on a highly-modified Honda CRF450, which
will feature both Magura JACK hydraulic clutch, and a Magura 190
Radial Pump Master Braking Cylinder assembly. Magura has been
designing, developing and refining this technology in harmony
with the sport's explosion in Europe so that now, the products
are perfectly suited to the highly specialized needs of
Supermoto. Jeff Enlow, Magura USA's General Manager said,

on of the greatest racers motorcycling has ever seen, and the
fact that he believes in our products means an awful lot to
us."
Supermoto racers typically run a massive front
braking rotor, which requires substantially more stopping power.
When combined with an oversized rotor, Magura's Radial Pump
Master Cylinder braking lever provides upwards of 60% more
stopping power with less pulling force than a typical stock
braking system. "The level of deceleration in world class
Supermoto racing is unreal -- so delicate, two-finger braking is
simply a huge asset. It enables the racers to reduce fatigue
significantly," continued Enlow. The JACK hydraulic clutch
provides a smooth pull which doesn't fade, self-adjusts and its
closed system requires virtually no maintenance.
The Magura JACK hydraulic Clutch Kit retails for
approx. $249, is self-adjusting, comes complete and is easy to
