Sent on behalf of Sibbick Racing:

RIVERVIEW, Fla. (Dec. 26, 2016) - Sibbick Racing will continue with a two rider team for the 2017 American Flat Track (formerly known as “AMA Pro Flat Track”) season.

Clearwater, FLA., Shawn McNary, who closed out the 2016 season with promising qualifying times only to be plagued by electrical issues, will return to the team for his sixth season, in an effort to earn his National Number aboard the WKR Kawasaki EX650 in the Twins class

Returning with Shawn for 2017 American Flat Track Singles class, is Chase Sconyers from Metter, Ga. Chase finished in the top 10 at three of the five races he attended with his limited schedule. 2016 was his first year back as a Pro Racer since his accident at the 2012 Indy Mile.

“We wanted to give Chase a shot riding our twins in 2016, and we were impressed at how quickly he adapted to WKR Kawasaki EX650,” said Matt Sibbick, Sibbick Racing Team Lead. “His heat race win and 6th place main in Charlotte, and his 7 th and 6 th place main event finishes at both rounds of the Springfield Mile GNC2 proves he is a formidable competitor, and we feel he has the drive to finish on the podium many times in the upcoming season.”

In addition to Chase and Shawn, Sibbick Racing is happy to name Gary McNary our crew chief for both riders in the 2017 AFT season. Gary will have race technician’s Dan Sconyers and Ken Davis helping both riders in the paddock.

“Gary McNary is pivotal to our team. His knowledge stems from well over 40 years of building and maintaining professional race bikes,” said Sibbick. “We are excited to have him on our team again for 2017. His understanding of the bikes and riders will be extremely useful as we chase a National Number for Shawn and podium finishes for both riders.”

Continuing as Sibbick Racing motor builder for 2017 is Woody Kyle Racing hailing from sunny Clearwater, Fla. Woody is one of the premier motor builders in Flat Track for professional and amateurs alike.

“We are very fortunate to have Woody living in the Tampa Bay Area,” said Sibbick. “His knowledge of the Kawasaki is amazing, the man just see’s horsepower and figures out how to get it from the motor to the track.”
