About the AMA Pro Grand National Expert Singles Championship

Competing on short tracks and TT’s, the stars of AMA Pro Grand National Expert Singles have to switch gears on their single-cylinder production-based 450cc bikes. Putting the emphasis on more strategic and intricate racing methods, the shorter courses contain less lengthy straight-a-ways and demand a high level of creativity in order to get to the front of the pack and maintain a competitive position.
Eligible bikes in AMA Pro Grand National Expert Singles include recent model year versions of the Honda CRF450R, Kawasaki KX 450F, KTM 450 SX-F, KTM 450 SX-F FE, KTM 450 SX, Suzuki RM-Z 450 and Yamaha YZ450F.
As with all classes of AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles, the Expert Singles run on purpose-built Goodyear tires and are fueled by Sunoco Supreme 112 race fuel.
The stars of AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles will whip out their single engines on the very first week of the season at the DAYTONA Flat Track. Jared Mees and his five podium finishes in Expert Singles competition helped him claim the title in 2012 on his Honda CRF450R.
