DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 27, 2013) – The competition just got stingier. Sandra Stammova, British Superbike sensation and one of the top professional motorcycle racers in the world, will bring her talent over to the United States and compete in GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing’s Vance & Hines Harley Davidson Series at Daytona International Speedway on March 15, 2013. The British Superbike superstar will make her U.S. debut on the Rossmeyer’s Daytona Racing Harley-Davidson XR1200 and race with Triple Crown/RMR. In recent years, Stammova has ridden a Kawasaki ZX-10R in the very competitive British Superbike Championship.
“This is a big deal to get Sandra over here and ride for us on the Rossmeyer Harley,” said Richie Morris. “We tested the bike in January and plan on doing so again later this week. It’s a big difference making the transition from a Kawasaki to a Harley but we’re making huge strides and coming right along. We expect to be ready for Daytona and racing at full-force. Sandra has that “it” factor that you can’t just teach to anyone, she’s got all the intangibles that you love to see in a rider.”
Stammova recently landed in California and will take part in one final test this week at Chuckwalla Raceway before heading east to Daytona Beach, Florida where she will have many avid race fans waiting for her to see what all the hype is about.
“I have been looking forward to this race for a while now,” said Stammova. “It’s an honor for me to race in a place like Daytona, especially because it’s something I’ve never done before. The Harley-Davidson is a very different bike than what I’ve grown accustomed to on the Kawasaki but I’ve been doing some solid training and believe I am ready for Daytona.”
