DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 15) - Ryan Wells rode his Waters Auto Body Honda to a runner up finish on Friday night in the AMA Pro Flat Track presented by J&P Cycles Pro Singles class at Daytona International Raceway and earned a share of the Motorcycle-Superstore.com Bell Helmet bonus.

"Daytona is always a fun weekend," Wells said. "It's a great way to kick off the race season."

Wells finished sixth in the season opener on Thursday night and rebounded for a strong effort out of the box on Friday being either No. 1 or 2 in both qualifying sessions. He won his heat race by 1.177 seconds before rolling into the main event full of confidence.

"The track was really hard tonight and my finish was definitely better than the sixth from last night," Wells said. "My team did a great job this weekend, and I'd like to thank all my sponsors for helping me do what I really love: racing motorcycles."

Wells rode a strong main event, but wasn't enough to overcome Jake Constantine, who won the race by 2.018 seconds. With his finish, Wells moves into fourth place in the Pro Singles season standings heading to the next stage of the season.

A handful of Motorcycle-Superstore.com Bell Helmet riders had strong rides, but just missed out on the contingency. Wyatt Maguire was fourth with Stephen VanderKuur, Dominic Colindres and Gerit Callies holding down fifth through seventh places, respectively.
