TOOELE, Utah, (August 7, 2013) - After a weekend off from racing JD Beach and Hayden Gillim where back at it in Tooele, UT at Miller MotorSports Park. JD had a great weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca coming home with a 5th adding on to his Top 5 list. Hayden had to sit out of the West Coast round to save some money to be able to finish strong the rest of the season. He did enjoy the time he got to spend at Laguna helping and talking to sponsors and getting to watch Moto GP!

Hayden was really looking forward to getting to Miller. A track he had great success at last year and really enjoys. Unfortunately he would be denied of that this year. Little nagging problems with the bike all weekend made it a tough weekend to handle. With 4 weeks until he will be packing up for New Jersey there's plenty of time to get the bugs worked out and back on top of his game.

“After having such a great weekend at Mid-Ohio and going to a track like Miller I was really excited. Miller is another track I just really enjoy racing at. We really had to pull things together and cut it tight on budget to make it happen. Even after not getting the results we had hoped for it was a good experience for me between having to travel there and learning how to deal with such a hard weekend.”

“Looking back at the weekend I know I had the speed to run up front. We qualified 2nd and had the pace Sunday in the warmup. I knew I could put the fast laps in but just couldn't put it all together. Sometimes there's something's you can't help from happening. My crew (Rick Mathney and Jon Heinen) worked so hard all weekend but we just couldn't help bad luck. I can't wait until New Jersey and I know my bikes will be good to go.”

After coming away with another Top 5 at Laguna Seca JD was really looking forward to Miller. He had some unfinished business with that track. He has run strong there in the past but crashes and bad luck have hurt his results. This past weekend he finally got his revenge on the track and was able to get a double podium.

“At Laguna I was just wanting to get out of there with another Top 5. I really like the track but its been hard to get good results there. But after being able to run strong there I was really looking forward to getting to Miller. That track is so much fun, fast, and flows really well. I was glad that we had are own race weekend there and didn't have to share the track. We got to have two races and more track time so that was awesome.”

“Scott (Jensen) and Danny (Anderson) had there hands full all weekend. On top of normal bike stuff I broke a bike in half during a qualifying crash and making that bike unable to be used for the rest of the weekend. We started out really strong from the first session on the track. Coming away with double thirds it was awesome. Both races we had some great battles for the lead and led some more laps. Every race we keep getting stronger, we have a few weeks until New Jersey but I can't wait to get racing again.”

With a break until New Jersey MotorSports Park it will give Hayden and JD plenty of time to get some things done. Hayden has some training and bike repairing to do. Nothing major but everything has to be perfect for the last race of the year. JD will get back to his roots and race some Dirt Track. He has a few AMA Pro races lined up to do.
