Shelton will start his 25th season in AMA Pro Flat Track competition in 2009, racing aboard the No. 2B KTM 450 for the Matto Cycle/Elf/Race Tools/KTM team for the 8th consecutive year. Shelton is also the marketing agent for fellow racers Jared Mees, Kevin Atherton and Jess Roeder. Shelton also competed in AMA Pro Road Racing from 1987-1996 on a Suzuki.
