Lawson Takes Opening Round
of ITP/Moose ATVA National Motocross Championship Series
Presented by Parts Unlimited
AMA Racing news
The opening round of the 2007 ITP/Moose ATVA Motocross
Championship presented by Parts Unlimited is in the record
books, and the series is off to a flying start. While perfect
weather and track conditions greeted the riders, some of the top
riders in the series didn’t get off to such a perfect start,
which allowed Jeremy Lawson (Hon) to climb to the overall win by
virtue of solid 3-3 moto scores.
Alabama's own Keith Little (Hon) had 2-4 scores for second and
Chad Wienen (Hon) was third with 8-1 moto scores.
As for the pre-season favorites, defending ITP/Moose ATVA MX
Campion Joe Byrd (Hon) was leading the first moto when he lost
control and took an off-track excursion. He lost almost a lap
trying to restart his machine and ultimately finished with 13-6
moto scores. Honda’s John Natalie won the first moto, but seized
in the second go around and finished ninth, which placed him
fourth overall.
The next round of the 2007 ITP/Moose ATVA Motocross Championship
presented by Parts Unlimited takes place March 24-25 at Glen
Helen in San Bernardino, California.
