AMA Pro
Racing, in conjunction with the ATVPG, announces a
supplemental rule change to the AMA Pro ATV Rules requiring
riders to use the same machine in timed qualifiers that they
will race in the main program. The newly implemented timed
scoring allows riders to compete for gate choice using their
best lap time in Sunday’s practice, rather than drawing for
position. Accordingly, Sunday’s practice session is also
considered a qualifying event. This is consistent with
other forms of AMA Pro Racing. Although seeded for the main
event, the top 10 riders will be required to participate in
Sunday’s practice session in order to familiarize themselves
with the racing surface.
