Round 10 of AMA U.S. Hillclimb Championship presented by Pace American cancelled
AMA Pro Racing has confirmed the cancellation and
postponement of the AMA Hillclimb event scheduled for Sept. 21
at Haydenville, Ohio. According to Rob King, AMA Pro Racing
technical manager, severe rains have eroded the hillside to the
point where underlying rock is exposed making it impossible to
hold the race at this location. "In speaking to Drew Wolfe
of Action Sports, the event promoter, we realized we would not
be able to adequately prepare the hill in time for the
race," said King. "The base of the hill is essentially
a mudslide at this time."
AMA Pro Racing and Action Sports are attempting to reschedule
this event at another location. "With a couple of events
left on the schedule and some open weekends we hope to hold this
round yet this year," said King.
AMA Pro Racing will issue additional information as it
becomes available.
