AMA Pro Racing launches AMASupermoto.com as
official website of AMA Supermoto Championship AMA Pro Racing press release
AMA Pro Racing, the leading sanctioning body for
motorcycle sport in the U.S., announced today the launch of
www.AMASupermoto.com -- a new website dedicated to complete
coverage of the AMA Supermoto Championship. The official series
website will serve as the premier source for official news about
the AMA Supermoto Championship and marks another example of AMA
Pro Racing's continuing commercial development efforts to grow
its motorcycle racing brands.
AMASupermoto.com is the fourth series-specific
website built by AMA Pro Racing in the last three years.
www.1800FlatTrack.com (also available as
www.AMAFlatTrack.com)
was launched in March 2001 as the official website of the AMA
Progressive Insurance Flat Track Championship;
www.USMotocross.com was launched in April 2002 as the official
website of the AMA Chevrolet Motocross Championship; and
www.USSuperbike.com, the official website of the AMA Chevrolet
Superbike Championship, was unveiled in March of 2003.
The content make-up of AMASupermoto.com will
follow the successful model used in the three other AMA Pro
Racing series websites, which includes:
-
Official up-to-the-minute, post-race results,
points standings and lap times.
-
Near real-time, lap-by-lap online scoring with
AMA Pro Racing’s exclusive @theWire LIVE! timing system.
-
Unique round-by-round navigation allowing easier
and faster access to event-specific information.
-
News and photos from each race updated throughout
the race weekend by established USSuperbike.com contributor
Chris Martin and noted photographer Ray Gundy.
-
Access to the complete line of official AMA Pro
Racing merchandise and authentic series and rider apparel.
-
Fan feedback opportunities such as a weekly
letters-to-the-editor section, online polls, free classifieds,
and more.
-
Official historical information and statistics
covering the newly founded AMA Supermoto Championship.
If past experience is any indicator,
AMASupermoto.com should be a hit with fans. “The response we’ve
gotten about our series websites has been extremely positive,”
said Matt Ringlien, AMA Pro Racing Web Content & Development
Manager. “Supermoto racing is so new, that there’s not too much
out there for AMA Supermoto racing fans. We hope that
AMASupermoto.com can become a leader in that area and as the
sanctioning body, it's our obligation to the sport, fans,
sponsors and the riders to cover the series more completely, and
more officially, than anyone."
In December 2000, AMA Pro Racing launched an
aggressive Internet strategy setting the stage for
1800FlatTrack.com, USMotocross.com, USSuperbike.com and now
AMASupermoto.com.
www.amaproracing.com, the official website of
AMA Pro Racing, has since been refocused and is now a primary
communication channel to the sanctioning body's participants and
teams, as well as a launching point for content on all four
series websites.
