AMA Pro Racing watching Hurricane Ivan closelyAMA Pro Racing press release
Due to Hurricane Ivan and its anticipated effects
on the mainland United States, AMA Pro Racing is in conversation
with various event promoters regarding the possibility of
postponing this weekend’s AMA Pro Racing events.
Events potentially affected by the category five
storm include the AMA Chevrolet Superbike Championship at
Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va., the AMA Supermoto
Championship at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va., and
the AMA Progressive Insurance Flat Track Championship race at
Scioto Downs in Columbus, Ohio.
A final determination of this weekend’s scheduled
events could be announced as early as Tuesday evening.
