Ryan Kerr Ready to Pull Out All the Stops
NEWS August 31, 2010
(August 31, 2010) - Heading to the Garden State for the final round of the AMA Pro SuperSport East Series, Ryan Kerr is ready to pilot his Ryan Kerr Racing Kawasaki to a top finish at the AMA Pro SuperBike Weekend, Sept 3rd-5th at Thunderbolt Raceway, New Jersey Motorsports Park, in Millville, N.J.
“I’m ready to pull out all the stops for this one,” says the young racer from Johnstown, Ohio. “We are sitting just one point out of 6th and 16 points out of 5th and there is nothing that I would like more than to finish in the top five. Unfortunately, we were unable to take part in the recent track day at New Jersey Motorsports Park; so once again, this will be another new experience for our team.”
In his first year of professional racing, Kerr has shown his two-wheeled skill and consistency by finishing every race and never crashing.
“Our goal this year was to be able to finish every race, and we have done just that,” says Kerr. “I had never been to or even seen any of the tracks, except for Mid-Ohio, so each race was a brand new challenge. It has definitely been an exciting first year and boy, have I learned a lot.”
Off the track, Kerr holds down a full time job at a local motorcycle dealership and teaches at the Mid-Ohio Motorcycle School.
“I also try to race motocross and work out as much as possible,” he says with a smile. “If you race motocross, there are lots of places to ride and race, but road racing is not the same. Unless you race in other series like CCS or WERA or do track days, there is no real place to practice. So, I do the next best thing which is to keep my body in top shape and my mind in gear. You have to be on the top of your game every second you are racing. A single mistake can send you off course and that means you can easily get in trouble. We don’t plan to let this happen this weekend. I plan to end the season on a high note.”
Ryan Kerr Racing is sponsored by MJ USA, 614Paintworx, Leo Vince, Arai, Di-Digital Impressions, Woodcraft, KobieC.com, Kawasaki and MJ Motorgear, and Mid-Ohio School.
