RYAN KERR RACING TAKES HOME 8TH OVERALL IN AMA PRO SUPERSPORT EAST

Millville, N.J. (September 8, 2010) - Taking an 11th place and an 8th place finish at the AMA Pro SuperBike presented by AMSOIL Weekend, Sept 3rd-5th at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, N.J., Ryan Kerr earned an 8th place overall in this year’s AMA Pro SuperSport East competition.

“This was definitely a good weekend for us,” said Kerr while smiling, whose 8th place finish in Sunday’s race was his best of the season. “We are really happy to end the year in the top 10. This was my very first year in professional racing and our goal was to finish every race. That’s what we did and our consistency paid off.”

Turning a wheel on the track for the very first time, Kerr qualified in 14th. Pulling off the grid in the first race, he got a good start and was starting to move up.

“We won the SunTrust Bank Most Improved Rider Award for our come-from-behind finish at Virginia International Raceway,” explains Kerr. “Everyone on the team was so pumped and we were determined to do it again.”

“Unfortunately, the guy in front of me crashed and I had nowhere to go,” explains Kerr. “The only thing I could do was come to a dead stop. Luckily I was able to do that, but it cost me about six seconds and lost me any chance of doing well. I managed to move up to 11th, but that was as far as I could go. It wasn’t anyone’s fault; I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn’t crash and no one was hurt and that’s the important thing.”

On Sunday, Kerr once again got a good start.

“This time luck was on my side and I immediately began to move up. I just put my head down and rode as hard as I could. In fact, I actually managed to take over 8th on the very last lap. Thunderbolt Raceway is a great track and I really liked running on it. The crowd was huge and that made it even more exciting. The Ryan Kerr Racing team did an incredible job. They had my Kawasaki running in perfect condition and being able to finish each race is due to their hard work. They are the one’s that kept my act together and I can’t thank them enough,” said Kerr.

“We are going to run at Barber which will be great and I am looking forward to trying my luck there.”

Ryan Kerr Racing is sponsored by MJ USA, 614Paintworx, Leo Vince, Arai, Di-Digital Impressions, Woodcraft, KobieC.com, Kawasaki and MJ Motorgear, and Mid-Ohio School.
