JOHNSTOWN, OHIO (December 01, 2011) - AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport rider Ryan Kerr and the Ryan Kerr Racing Team were invited to take part in an instructional session at Pioneer Career & Technology Center in Shelby, Ohio. Kerr explains, “I was introduced to instructors from the career center at the Mid-Ohio race last season and was very impressed with their curriculum. Mr. Rick Harvey , Engine’s Class Instructor, felt that students would gain knowledge from myself and the Ryan Kerr racing team. The team was happy to take part in the event and share our knowledge and lessons learned throughout my AMA Pro racing career.”
Junior and senior career center students received an overview of the logistics of managing a racing team, watched a video of first hand footage of Kerr competing in an event, and finally received one on one instruction from Kerr’s lead mechanic on engine maintenance. The team transported race bikes to allow for visual and on hands training. “It was a great experience for me and the team to work with the students. We received a receptive welcome throughout the day and answered several questions. I appreciate the opportunity to be involved with assisting others as they move forward with their education and future careers.”
In addition to Kerr’s events within the community, he continues to focus on fitness training and track time to prepare for the upcoming 2012 season. Kerr is anticipated to be a top competitor in the AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com Supersport series and anxiously awaits the first event of the season at Daytona International Speedway on March 15–17, 2012.
