DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 15, 2012) – Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) kicks off the AMA Pro Racing National Guard SuperBike season at Daytona International Speedway this weekend, fielding a two-rider attack on the 2012 championship.

Ben Bostrom, piloting the #23 Jordan Suzuki, and Roger Lee Hayden, aboard the #54 National Guard Suzuki, are riding high on the heels of successful pre-season testing. The new season marks the second consecutive year for both riders with MJM, further solidifying critical motorcycle development and placing the teams on pace for the opening event.

"We ended the 2011 on a high note and we plan to maintain that momentum heading into the new season,” said Kreig Robinson, Michael Jordan Motorsports’ vice president of corporate development. “Fluid development in the off-season means that we don’t have to go back to the drawing board at the season’s end. In trying to get ahead of the competition, keeping the same riders definitely helps that process.”

“The Jordan team has given me the tools, and now it’s up to me to be the craftsman,” said Bostrom.

“My crew has put in the hours, blood, sweat and tears to give me a bike that I can be successful on. I’ve been ready since New Jersey to get back on the box,” said Hayden.

Bostrom and Hayden finished fifth and sixth respectively in the 2011 AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike Championship.

Legendary NBA star Michael Jordan formed Michael Jordan Motorsports in 2004 as a result of his passion for motorcycle racing. His mission is to bring a new level of excellence and style to the motorcycle racing industry.

The National Guard is the oldest military branch. Today, Citizen-Soldiers hold civilian jobs or attend college while training part time, staying ready to defend America in the event of an emergency. The National Guard serves both state and federal governments. During local emergencies, Guard units assist residents endangered by storms, floods, fires and other disasters. Guard companies deployed overseas may see combat, but are often found building schools and hospitals, training local peacekeepers or teaching local farmers more efficient techniques and better uses of their land.
