Press release for the SGA/KATRA/YCRS team prepared by the Hasten Media Group:

(May 4, 2012) - While testing at Barber Motorsports park this past weekend, it was obvious that the SGA/KATRA/Yamaha Champions Riding School (YCRS) team is not taking the exceptional talent of the 2012 Daytona 200 winner and 2010 AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport West Champion Joey Pascarella lightly. It was even more obvious that a driven and determined rider has been matched with two equally driven and determined team owners, none of whom are afraid to pick a fight with the Goliaths of the paddock. In an effort to have the riders comfort as their number one priority, SGA/KATRA/YCRS has built a team around Joey Pascarella. Crew Chief Danny Anderson, mechanics Jerome Craig and Lewis Ferrari along with team members Mike "Ski" Szatkowski and Nick Ferrari have been able to provide a set up that Pascarella is finally happy with. In addition to the SGA/KATRA/YCRS team members, Graves Yamaha suspension expert Chris Lessing was flown in to assist with the testing sessions at Barber.

Joey Pascarella at the end of the first day of testing at Barber:
"I don't know what times I'm running, and I don't really care because it's a track day and there are a ton of bikes out there, I'm just really happy with what we were able to do with the set up today. The SGA/KATRA/YCRS team and I are really starting to get on the same page, I feel like I'm back to where I was with my set up at Daytona."

Joey might not have been concerned with his times but other people were very interested to find out that in a sold out track day with 50 riders in every class, Pascarella still managed to run a 1:29.9 which would have had him starting in 3rd on the GoPro Daytona SportBike Grid for last years AMA Pro race.

Charlie Grannon, SGA/KATRA/YCRS Co-Owner said:
"We have a new rider, a new team, and big responsibility to keep Joey in this hunt for a Championship. Testing went well this weekend and a big thanks to the team and Joey who did an amazing job of getting us closer to where we want to be in a short period of time. We're really looking forward to Infineon, it's a track that Joey is very familiar with. It's on the team to make sure the bike is in top form because I know Joey will ride the heck out of it. It's our 3rd race together and we want to show the paddock we mean business."

Kat Zimple, SGA/KATRA/YCRS Co-Owner said:
"The most important thing that came out of testing at Barber was that Joey knows he can trust his team. As long as he enjoys the bike and enjoys riding, he will do well. At Barber we relieved some stress by bringing in Chris Lessing to handle the suspension; rider comfort is number one. We are getting to know each other and working towards the same goal. At the end of the day this is a points game, consistency is key and we just want to keep him in the running for the championship."

The saga continues this weekend as fans tune in to see if this "David" of a team has the bike and rider to beat the "Goliaths" of the AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class. Out of all the tracks on the 2012 schedule, Infineon Raceway could provide the best opportunity to gain points and a shot at landing on the podium.
