CAMPBELL, Calif. (June 27, 2012) - After a very positive weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, Meen Motorsports is preparing for more success at Ohio. Achieving their weekend goal of improving on qualifying, Fong started sixth on the grid, his best qualifying position of the season.
“Bobby has done nothing but to progress every race weekend. He definitely showed his winning potential at Barber, charging with the lead group in both race one and two” states team owner Ameen Sajjadi.
Temperatures were hot in Alabama, posing difficult challenges for all riders, Fong not the expectation. Starting race one, Fong pulled away with the lead pack and then steadily created a three second gap between him and sixth place. Battling heat exhaustion, Fong reluctantly slowed his times down, finishing 6th.
Ready for the heat, race two proved an exciting series of events for Fong. Given minor adjustments made to the bike and rider, Fong was able to charge to the front of the five rider battle, securing second place for a large part of the race. After encountering lappers, Fong finished 5th, matching his best finish of the year.
After consistently running top six for the 2012 season, Fong looks to capture a podium in Mid-Ohio. With victory in sights the Meen Motorsports team is looking for potential advertising partners to collaborate with for the remaining of the race season.
