CAMPBELL, Calif. (July 18, 2012) – Setting a lap record at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Bobby Fong takes home a third place GoPro Daytona SportBike finish after the Buckeye Superbike Weekend.
Qualifying seventh, Fong worked his way up to the front all weekend, battling for a win with the race leaders during both Saturday and Sunday’s race. Reluctant to accept defeat after having an unfortunate DNF on Saturday, Fong ran a strong race on Sunday, landing himself on the box for the first time this 2012 season.
“I really found myself playing it safe on Sunday, when I new I was going to be on the podium. I wanted to pass Westby and battle Beaubier for the win, but I knew how much this podium finish meant to the whole Meen Motorsports team so I played it smart, being just happy to just get on the box,” comments Fong.
His eye on a win at Laguna Seca Raceway, Fong looks forward to coming home to his local fans.
“I am really excited, but more than anything motivated to win as I go home to race at my favorite track,” notes Fong.
The Meen Motorsports Team will be heading next to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, July 27-29, 2012. The team is still currently looking for potential advertising partners to collaborate with for the remaining of the race season. For more information contact, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The team would like to thank the following team sponsors for 2012: Graves Motorsports, Yamaha, Ktech, Motydesigns.com, Pilot, Radiomedics, K&N performance filters, Sharkskinz, and Galfer.
