INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (August 16, 2012) - The points in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series have been reset and the 10 riders now eligible for the 2012 championship are on equal footing heading into this weekend's Red Bull Moto GP at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

With two of the five remaining races set to be contested in Indy -- at 4:20 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday -- KLR Group riders Kyle Wyman and Michael Barnes know much will be decided at the Brickyard. Considering both riders have reached the podium at all seven races so far this year, they are understandably expecting big things to happen on their specially-prepared Spyke's Harley-Davidson mounts.

"We're ready to go," Wyman said. "I've been fortunate enough to win three races this year and before everyone of those events I made sure I had a few days alone with no distractions so I could focus my mind and all my attention on riding to the best of my abilities. I actually found a hotel next to a Planet Fitness on the north side of Indy and I just holed up there ever since last weekend's test. I feel great. My mind is clear and my dreams have returned to what I need to do to end the day in the winner's circle.

"This is the biggest weekend of the year. If we run well, the championship chase will play right into our hands. If we mess up, we're going to put ourselves in a hole. There is no room for error because I know everyone else will be trying just as hard as we are."

Wyman and Barnes, a one-time winner this season who recently joined the KLR Group race team, looked sharp in last Saturday's test at IMS, turning the second and third quickest laps, respectively.

"The transition to Kyle's team has been seamless," the veteran Barnes said. "We have the same riding styles and intensity and it was fun riding with him during the test and seeing everything just fall into place.

"We all have the same goal -- to win the championship. The first two steps down that path happen this weekend. It's an honor to race for the KLR Group and all the other companies and people that have helped me reach this point, and we can't wait to show the Moto GP guys some real American horsepower."

Action in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 Series begins with a practice at 12:10 p.m. Friday followed by a lone qualifying session later that day at 4:10 p.m. That will set the field for the two main events.

Kyle Wyman Racing receives support from the KLR Group, Gaston Kearby, Spyke's Harley-Davidson, Planet Fitness, Vesrah, Arai, DVS, Küryakyn, Shimano, Ohlins, Electric Eyewear, Cortech, Maxima, Kicker, Motion Pro, CJ Motorsports, Long Pond Auto Body, Katra, Odi, Shorai, Held, The Sound Awake, G2, SIDI, 505 Blues and the Webster Dental Group.
