CAMPBELL, Calif. (September 12, 2012) – Leading the series’ top riders, numerous times in both Saturday and Sunday’s AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike races, Fong battled with the points leaders to conclude the American Redcross Devils Showdown at New Jersey Motorsports Park, with his second podium finish of the 2012 AMA Pro season.
In Saturday’s race Fong contested the front of the pack, dicing back and forth every corner, eventually to cease with a fourth place finish, due to some tire wear and tear. Sunday’s race proved an exciting battle to the start finish line, Fong capturing third place for the second time this year.
“I’m really upset with myself. I was going for the win but I timed everything wrong,” said Fong. “It’s a work in progress and every weekend, we’re getting better.”
The Meen Motorsports team returns to AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike class, following the series mini-break, with their sights set on ending the year with a first place finish. Fong, and the team, look forward to bringing the heat in the last two races of the season.
“Every weekend, Bobby impresses me more and more with his maturity as a rider. I know we can win,” Meen Motorsports team owner Ameen Sajjadi states.
The Meen Motorsports team’s next event of the 2012 AMA GoPro Daytona SportBike series will be held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, FL, the weekend of September 21 - 23, 2012.
The team would like to thank the following team sponsors for 2012, Graves Motorsports, Yamaha, Ktech, Motydesigns.com, Pilot, Radiomedics, K&N performance filters, Sharkskinz, and Galfer.
