DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 15, 2013) – KTM/HMC Racing’s Chris Fillmore recorded two National Guard SuperBike top-ten finishes in the GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing season-opening races at Daytona International Speedway last month. The 2011 Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series champion is currently in his third year of National Guard SuperBike competition, his second consecutive season under Mitch Hansen and KTM/HMC Racing in the SuperBike ranks. Aside from training vigorously out in California during the layover between Daytona and the next scheduled event at Road America, Fillmore spends his free time in front of a camera shooting short video clips that he’s named “Following Fillmore.”
“One of the main reasons for doing the short videos is to develop a bigger presence for myself in the paddock,” said Fillmore. “We thought it was a good way to get my face in front of a bigger audience on a more consistent level. So far, we’ve had nothing but positive feedback regarding the few videos that we’ve put out so I’m happy about that.”
An injury left Fillmore on the sidelines for several races in 2012, causing him to finish just outside the top 10 in the final point standings. This year, a rejuvenated Fillmore is healthy and ready to take on the stout National Guard SuperBike competition alongside first-year teammate Taylor Knapp. Fillmore recorded 8th and 10th place finishes at Daytona and currently sits seventh in the points. Since graduating from GoPro Daytona SportBike to the National Guard SuperBike ranks in 2011, Fillmore has improved his overall performances tremendously with each season that passes.
