Elkhart Lake WI, (June 1, 2013) -- Huntley Nash’s Superbike debut at Road America lasted just half a lap as the Georgian was collected in a lap-one incident in Saturday’s AMA Pro Superbike race.
Nash also did not finish the Daytona SportBike contest due to machine issues on his LTD Racing Yamaha R6, resulting in a frustrating day at one of his best tracks.
Nash was hopeful for a better Sunday, however, as the Neyra Racing team made progress with the team's Kawasaki ZX10. “Everyone was checking up early on the first lap, and I saw someone dive-bombing the entire field. He crashed and took out some people, and I got hit from behind. I’m fine. We had a huge improvement in the bike with the changes that were made, and they were all positive. In DSB, something happened with the bike, so I pulled in. This is a track where we can get a good result in DSB, but we have to get everything with the bike squared away for tomorrow.”
Huntley will attempt the back-to-back races tomorrow, with Daytona SportBike beginning at 1:00 PM local time and Superbike at 3:00 PM.
