Johnstown, Ohio (July 16, 2013) - Ryan Kerr and the Ryan Kerr Racing Team were ready to get back on the track this weekend at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. An Ohio native, Kerr was excited for his first SuperBike race at his hometown track in front of several family and friends. Kerr states, “Since receiving my SuperBike license a few months ago, I have learned a lot about what it takes to ride at this level. The riders who surround me on the track are the most talented in this business and I will continue to learn from them.”
The weekend began with some struggles in practice and qualifying times for Ryan Kerr and the Ryan Kerr Racing Team. Kerr expressed concerns, “Unfortunately at the last AMA event at Barber Motorsports Park, I was involved in a crash which caused some bike damage and some injuries which I am still healing from. My team and I pushed through the challenges and I started off the grid in the 18th position. Unfortunately on Saturday I was unable to complete the race due to a mechanical issue with the bike. A devastated Kerr explains, “The bike was running good and I was happy with my 14th place position when I lost power and was unable to finish the race. It’s sure not the way I wanted Saturday to end but Sunday offered a new day of racing with better results.” On Sunday, Ryan Kerr and the Ryan Kerr racing team finished the weekend with a 16th place finish.
The turnout of fans was amazing to show support to their hometown rider. Kerr was greeted with a field of fans wearing bright green who offered loud cheers of support with every lap! An excited and grateful Kerr states, “It’s always a great racing event and I appreciate the support of my family and home town fans. I truly want to thank all of the people who took the time to come out and spend the day and support my dream. Each of you motivated me and gave me the extra strength that I needed to push through the challenges this weekend!”
