Tooele, UT. (Aug 6, 2013) – BP Racing’s Brazilian rider Sebastiao Ferreira takes an outstanding 4th place finish in what was hard fought and well earned Geico AMA Pro Motorcyle-Superstore.com SuperSport class Race 1 at Miller Motorsports Park. In addition to Ferreira’s 4th place finish, BP Racing rider CJ Weaver took home a 13th place finish and a 6th place finish in the Geico AMA Pro Motorcyle-Superstore.com SuperSport class.
Team Owner Mike Hammett had this to say about the weekend “Coming into Miller we felt like we had the right setup to run up front with Joe Roberts and Tomas Puerta. Throughout qualifying we were about half a second off the front. In race one Sebastiao pushed and finished strong with a 4th place finish.
“CJ was having some setup issues and the bike needed some dialing in. Come race 2 the bikes were dialed in and Sebastiao was second fastest all weekend and was strong in 5th place, when on the last lap, he tucked the front end and wasn’t able to finish the race. CJ continued on to a fantastic 6th place finish.” Commented Manager Ken Chewey
“The weekend started off great I felt really good going into the round and felt like I could have the chance to give everyone a good run. I didn’t quite qualify where I wanted but finished in 4th in race one. In race two I was running in a strong 5th with 4th place in my sights and I told myself I can catch him and pass him at the line, unfortunately I tucked the front in the last corner and couldn’t finish the race. I am very pleased with the bike and the team and will have to put in a lot of work and qualify better at Jersey to finish 2nd or 3rd in my west championship point’s race. My team worked hard for me as always and I went faster than I did in previous years with the second fastest lap of the weekend being my 1:56.709. I was able to earn some more points in the west division and would like to thank everyone for the hard work that was put in.” comments Sebastiao Ferreira.
CJ Weaver states “This weekend started off great, I was pleased with the bike and my lap times were improving with every lap turned. I would like to thank BP Racing/RedZone Racing for all the support they have given me. I am happy with my results at miller and am pleased with my progress and how much I have learned this season. After my 13th place and a 6th place finish and having some great battles on the track, I feel great for Jersey and look forward to learning the track.”
