LEEDS, Ala. (June 23, 2014) - Millennium Technologies rider Kyle Wyman rode to an impressive 11th place finish in Sunday's AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike race at Barber Motorsports Park after a big crash in the earlier run AMA Pro Harley-Davidson series race.

Wyman was in a heated battle for second place at the time of his off, which left him and his Harley-Davidson XR1200 tumbling through the turn-two gravel trap and into the soft barrier.

"I was very lucky to come away with no broken bones on that one," Wyman said. "I thought I had it saved, but I was still carrying a ton of speed when I ran off the track. Fortunate for me I was headed toward a small section of foam barrier about 20ft wide between large sections of armco."

It was Wyman's first crash of the season, and his first crash during a race since 2012.

"It was a shame because I got off to a really great start," Wyman added. "I was having way too much fun out there and maybe got a little anxious with the throttle. I made a couple mistakes that I wasn't too happy about, so I look forward to getting back out at the next one for some more redemption."

The AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike race made up for lost laps, as a bruised Wyman gridded up and entered a race-long battle for the entirety of the 19-lap final.

"The DSB race was really tough physically, especially after being thrown off the Harley," Wyman said. "We really made a huge step in the setup Sunday morning with the front end and I was looking forward to the race. We had much faster lap times in the race but were not very consistent. It will be good to rest up and come out swinging at Laguna Seca."

Wyman still sits in 6th place in the points standings in the AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Series, and dropped to 8th place in the AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Series.

The next event will take place at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, July 11-13, 2014.
